Well-cared, clean, moist and beautiful skin is the key to having a nice-looking makeup. We’ll discuss more questions concerning the skin care in the coming posts. Today, though, we decided to discuss a topic that is very important for each and every woman: “What are the essential makeup items every woman should own.” However, we should mention that there are specific rules for professional makeup artists.
Let’s get started!
Base/Foundation
There are a great many varieties of foundations. Your everyday “tone cream” should be a base, that contains color component. Base fills in the minor pores and some uneven parts of the skin and overlooks the excess oil on the skin. The color, in its turn, makes the face look smooth and even in tone. We’ll keep you posted about a future article on how to choose and use tone creams, BB creams and of course foundation powders.
Concealer
Concealers are another makeup essential to have in your bag. They are mainly used to cover-up small spots and blemishes on the skin as well as covering the undereye area. If your face is okay to go bare except for certain spots, you can use concealer to make it work.
Powder, one tone darker than the skin
After contouring became a trend, absolutely everyone decided to use the technique every day. We think, that heavy contouring is not practical for everyday makeup. First, it is time-consuming, then it is hard to do top-notch. Believe me, you would not want to look greasy with creme contour. Light contouring done with the use of a darker powder is a good way to go in defining your bone structure.
Oil-absorbing tissues
Our skin turns oily during the day. This is the main reason as to why the makeup doesn’t stay in place till the end of the day. The only solution here and basically, the key to having a perfect makeup is carrying special anti-oil napkins, that can even be used over makeup.
Eyeliner
There are 3 types of eyeliners: dry, gel and liquid. It’s essential to know which one of these eyeliners works the best for you. You can have either dark brown, grey or black eyeliner for everyday use. Brown and grey are very suitable for daily use, while the black eyeliner is good for evening makeup.
Mascara
Before choosing the mascara, you need to determine the result you want to achieve. If you want to make your lashes look thicker and add volume you would want to buy mascara with a softer and more fluffy brush. To make your eyelashes longer, and to separate them from each other, you would need a brush that looks like a comb.
Brow gel/brow shadows
Brows are the most important part of our face. They are basically what shape your eyes and the overall oval of your face. It’s very important to not only get the brow shape right, but also to choose the right tone. Your facial features might look too sharp if your brows are too dark. Brow gels help you keep the brows combed in the right direction, while brow shadows add color to the parts of your brows that lack hairs.
Lipstick
The use of lip balm is very good for keeping your lips from getting dry and make them look nice. Also, it can be a great lip “foundation” if we use it a couple of minutes prior to applying the actual lipstick.
Every woman should have lipsticks/lip pencils of at least 3 different colors: red, neutral, and some other color, that looks best on you. It’s safe to say that every woman can find the right tone of red lipstick that works perfectly for them.
It is also recommended to own gloss in your bag, as it can make any lipstick suitable to wear to an evening event or a party.
Blush
Pink blush, applied right, is irreplaceable for a fresh and girly glow on your face.
Applicators
Owning quality brushes is a must for smooth makeup application. You absolutely need to have a personal sponge to evenly apply liquid base and concealer on your skin. You also need to own special brushes for powder and blush application.
